To install Vphonet on your Windows XP/2000/Vista computer, please download the newest version from our download page. Then double-click on the downloaded file, and follow the prompts on the screen. We have done our best to make the install process as easy as possible. However, if you have difficulty, then please submit a support ticket, and we will try to assist you.
This quick installation guide explains how you can download and get started calling your friends once you have installed Vphonet software.

Downloading Vphonet software
You need a PC running Windows 2000 or XP. Mac not supported.
Step 1: Run the Vphonet setup file
A window will open asking what you want to do with a file called VphonetSetup.exe. Click Run button to continue.
When the download has finished, the Vphonet Setup Wizard will appear and guide you through the rest of the installation. See below all steps of installation.
Whenever you download a file, a dialog box should pop-up asking if you would like to RUN or SAVE the file. We recommend always selecting the SAVE option and then choosing your download location. At a later time, you can choose to delete any files you no longer have a need for. Saving your files will also ensure that you have a copy of the file for future reference and may help avoid a lot of unnecessary headaches and frustration.
If you decide to select the RUN option instead, your computer will automatically choose a hard-to-find location within it's temporary folders. When finished it will immediately begin to install the software or begin playing in the case of music and videos. If there are any problems when downloading, you will usually have to re-download the entire file again. This is also why we recommend always selecting the SAVE option.
Step 2: Welcome to Vphonet
This wizard will help install Vphonet on your computer. We strongly recommend to exit all Windows programs before running this wizard. If you are upgrading Vphonet, be sure that the previous version is not running. You can choose language in the selection checkbox. Click Next to continue.
Step 3: License agreement
Please read the Vphonet agreement and press Yes button to continue installing Vphonet on your PC.
Step 4: Installation folder
Vphonet will be installed in default folder. You can click Browse button to choose the folder you want to install Vphonet into. Click Next to continue.
 
Press Installbutton to continue.
Step 5: Installation
Congratulations! Vphonet was successfully installed on your PC. Press the Finish button to continue.
Step 6: Activate Logon Password - Create a new account
Because you are a new user you must fill up some information in order to receive your USERNAME and PASSWORD. To open a new Vphonet account press Create a new account button.
Step 7: Basic user data
Type your name and last name, e-mail address and date of your birtday. Remember that the e-mail address should be vaild in order to receive your password if you forget it. Each Vphonet user has one unique username that can be found by others. No one else can use the same username like you have.
IMPORTANT:
Username must starts with letter and be minimum 6 characters long.
The password that you choose must be minimum 6 characters long.
In the field PIN please type any 4 digit.
Press Next button to continue.
Step 8: Additional data
Enter your billing information. You can change them later in your User Profile by login to 'My account' on Vphonet website.
Step 9: Start to using Vphonet
When you start Vphonet for the first time, your contact list in your Address Book will be empty.
• To find friends open the User Search window, so you can find them and add to your Address Book.
• To add a friend to your Address Book simply right-click the name from the search results and press Add button.
• Now you can make voice and video calls with your friend and family for free. Select the person from the Address Book and press green button.
• If someone is calling you, you will hear the sound of a telephone ringing and the Vphonet icon in your system tray will flash.
