Free calls PC-to-PC
Any call to a Vphonet user is free. No matter when, no matter where, no matter how long you want to talk. All you need is a computer and a headset or microphone and speakers to start making FREE internet calls. Download software on your computer.
Free voice conferences
You and your friends need Vphonet plus a microphone and speakers or a headset. After you have downloaded the software, you can have voice conferences with up to 7 users around the world at the same time for no charge.

Note The higher the bandwidth you have, the better the sound quality will be on your calls. A good headset, a microphone and speakers, or a USB phone, as well as the latest version of your sound card, are recommended.
Call forwarding
All types of calls can be forwarded from one Vphonet user to another. Call forwarding is performed by the vpserver, and it is possible even Vphonet is offline or online.

With call forwarding you can answer your Vphonet calls even when you are away from the computer. Receive your calls no matter whether you are. Call forwarding makes you available always. With Call Forwarding, you can redirect incoming Vphonet calls to another Vphonet user, mobile phone or landline number.
Calls deflection
Voice calls can be deflected by your Vphonet to another Vphonet number. Call deflection can be performed immediately while receiving the call, or after a preset timeout.

With call deflection you can answer your Vphonet calls even though are not currently online. So you could be away from home and deflect the call to your mobile. To start deflecting your calls from Vphonet you will need calling Credit. Thers is no additional cost for friends to call you. You can be always available for your co-workers and family.

Answering machine
You can check your voicemail through Vphonet or your account. As a Vphonet VoIP phone service customer, you can customize a voice message. To access your voicemail via Vphonet just press a single button or, if you are away from Vphonet, simply login to your account.

This feature is available when your are online and offline.
Speed dial
With just a push of a button, you can dial an entire stored phone number instead of dialing 7 digits or writing username. You may program up to 1000 online speed-dial numbers! So your time is spent talking, NOT dialing.

You can define speed dial numbers to frequently called users. The speed dial numbers will appear in the Vphonet address book, along with the ordinary Vphonet numbers and the additional details. To dial a speed dial number, dial * followed by the speed dial code.
Call refusing
"Refusing incoming calls" sends an instant, specifically delayed message defined by you to anyone calling you. You can answer any call before it is refused by your Vphonet.
Automatically accept
You can set Vphonet to automatically accept voice calls you want after any preset delay or instantly. You can also set Vphonet to automatically accept all types of calls: voice call, video call, file transfer or chat.
Caller identification
Caller identification allows you to block your identity when you are making a phone call. All incoming calls are indicated by a caller name and number (caller ID), unless that caller has blocked their name and number. You can hide your Caller name and Vphonet number information from anyone you call. This feature is always off until you activate it. Caller identification let you know who is calling before you pick up the phone.
Indication missed call
All missed calls are indicated on the Vphonet main window. You can access your missed calls view in your event log, sorted by date and organized by category.

So every time when somebody calls you do not answer the call, you will see the flashing icon 'Missed call'. You can access your missed calls also by login to your account.
Contacts online
Notification that the contact is online will appear each time somebody from your Address Book logs in. You will know that your friend or family is available and ready to talk to you for free.
Video call
Participants can communicate by voice, chat and see each other by videoconference. Vphonet can perform video calls to any other Vphonet user in seamless image quality with no delays. Image capturing allows you to snapshot any image from the video conversation and save it into a file. You can adjust the brightness and contrast of the video calls, and see yourself the way that the other person in the video conversation sees you, using the PiP mode.

Video conferencing
Long distances between family, friend and colleague will no longer be a problem. A video conference is a real-time video session between four or more participants. It means that you, your sister from London and your cousin from Sydney and you mum from Germany can see each other at the same time with no delay and hear each other with clear voices. No matter how many miles away you are, video conversations are a great way to communicate.

Vphonet allows you take a picture of your friend during the video call and save it in your computer. Not only that - in PIP (Picture- in- Picture) mode you can see yourself the way others can see you. You can also adjust the brightness and contrast of the video calls.

Video conference calls are managed by a Conference Master. Only a certain participant may add others to that particular conference.

Video quality is determined by available bandwidth and CPU; we do not slow the connection by running your conversation through our server.
Video messages
One of Vphone's best feature has always been its high quality video. This is now complemented by Video Messaging, a powerful new way to sends recorded video clips. A video message can be recorded and sent to any other Vphonet user, as long as that user is online. If somebody send you a message, it will be saved on your computer. In addition to sending recorded messages to your online Vphonet contacts, you can also send a video message to any e-mail address.
Chat session
Chat is a realtime conferencing capability between two or more users on a local network (LAN) or on the Internet. The chat is really a "text chat," because conversing is carried out by typing on the keyboard, not speaking. Each keystroke is transmitted as it is pressed. Private instant chat is available between all Vphonet users. You can chat with many other users simultaneously, also during other calls, such as voice or video calls or file transfers
SMS Pc-to-Pc
SMS message Vphonet to Vphonet is for FREE. A text message (SMS) can be sent to any Vphonet user instantly, no matter whether your Vphonet contacts is online or offline. In addition to sending an SMS message you can also send it to multiple Vphonet's users. When the Vphonet is offline, messages are logged by our server and downloaded to your computer later. SMS messages can be sent and received during performing another voice or video call without any interference with the ongoing call, You can also send an SMS message from Vphonet to mobile phone around the world. File transfer
When you try to transfer files or a single large file use Vphonet. Files can be transferred from PC to PC, while both users are online. Files are communicated directly between the computers. There are no limitations to the size of the transferred files. Transfer speed is automatically adjusted so that voice or video calls from your Vphonet remain high-quality even during the file transfer.
Handsfree mode
Any voice call can be performed using Handsfree mode. This feature has been created for your convenience. Now you can talk to your friends and family with no need to sit in front of your computer.

You can switch the handsfree mode on and off wherever you use your headset or any other device.
Display background
One of the Vphonet's features is background. Every user has the option of setting up his own background, which will be displayed in the main Vphonet window. Each time you open an application, you will see a picture of your friend or maybe your favorite view.
Video e-mail
Why type your emails when you can show and tell your family and friends exactly how you feel? It is faster to record a message.
Simply set up a Vphonet account. After a very short time, a program will be installed allowing you to connect to the network. Plug in your web cam and start recording video email. It takes just two clicks to send a video message from Vphonet to your friend's e-mail address. Video message is a great way to say how much you love that person even he or she is miles away from you.
Export & import contacts
The Address Book provides a convenient place to store contact information. From the Address Book you can export and import all your contact to other file on your computer.
Call Transfer
Call Transfer lets you direct a live call to another Vphonet number anywhere in the world for no extra charge. Just press the Transfer button, choose the number or username from the Address Book you want your calls transferred. Call Transfer works on a per call basis, for incoming calls only, and only after you've picked up the phone.

The transferred call is announced which means that the desired party is notified of the impending transfer. This is usually done by putting the caller on hold and dialing the desired party; they are then notified and, if they choose to accept the call, it is transferred over to them.
Call waiting
Call Waiting means 'call on hold' and allows you to make or take one caller on the line while you make or take a second call, without losing the first call.
When you taking a call and someone else calls you at the same time, the first caller will automatically be placed on hold. You can click on flash button again to return to your original call or make a conference call by pressing the 'Conf All' button.
Sound effect
Sound effect is a call feature. Open the Vphonet Options window and press the Sound category. You can choose other sounds for different programs events (or upload your own in .wav format) from the Sound scheme in Vphonet's Options window.
Volume Control
You can use the Volume Control Panel to adjust the volume settings for sounds played on Vphonet. To adjust the volume of the microphone, speakers or headset, drag the volume slider for the appropriate device up or down to increase or decrease the input volume. If the volume is too low and you cannot hear very well, open Master Volume window and adjust the volume.

To open Volume window, click on Start, or click on All Programs, then Accessories, then Entertainment, and finally click on Volume Control.

Audio Tuning Wizard
The Audio Tuning Wizard helps to setup audio devices for using Vphonet. The Audio Tuning Wizard determines whether full-duplex audio is available, specifies the recording and playback devices and sets the microphone sensitivity.
If your computer has more than one audio device, make sure that the audio devices selected in the Audio Tuning Wizard match the selections in the Multimedia tool in the Control Panel.

Port configuration
The firewall is a device that filter access to protected networks. If you are using Vphonet from work or school, you are most likely behind a firewall. Your Internet provider could have a firewall set up or could be using a proxy server. The application can't work through certain proxy servers or firewalls. If your provider does have a firewall, it is possible to make Vphonet work through the firewall if you make the necessary changes. The UDP port is used for voice packets and some control messages.
Connection Status
If you are using Vphonet with a friend and do not wish to be interrupted, by another caller, you can use Connection Status settings. The options are as follows:
• Online
• Only accept calls from your Address Book
• Show your status as offline
• Offline (only outgoing calls are allowed).

Time and date
Time and date appears on the main Vphonet screen. This information obtained from the user's local computer.
